Professional indemnity insurance is a form of liability insurance that indemnifies the Insured against any sums for which the Insured becomes legally liable as a direct result of negligence, error or omission in the rendering of or failure to render professional services for others in the insured’s capacity as a professional.
You do not have to be wrong to be sued. However, you have to put up a legal defense if you are sued. The policy will provide for the costs of defending any action brought against you in your professional capacity.
