Engishu Insurance seeks to fill the following position:

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site role. The Business Development Officer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to new business acquisition, evaluating clients’ risk management needs, undertaking prompt & accurate communication with clients, and providing excellent customer service

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prompt response to client enquiries
  • Assisting clients in mapping their risk management needs and ensuring holistic coverage
  • Following up with clients on payment of premiums
  • Processing insurance cover quotes
  • Following up with insurers to ensure that cover requests are processed in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Update clients on upcoming renewals through timely dispatch of renewal notices.
  • Excellent negotiation and networking abilities
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
  • Any other responsibilities that may be allocated the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Insurance or a closely related field.
  • At least 6 months of previous experience in a business development, underwriting, or customer care role in an insurance firm/ brokerage/ agency.
  • Profession qualifications in Insurance (e.g. ACII, CII etc) are an added advantage.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate and work with diverse teams
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Proven passion for sales, insurance and risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
